Indications/Uses: Alpha glucosidase inhibitor. diabetes mellitus in combination with diet; 50-200mg tds, with the first bite of food.

Interactions: Effect decreased by thiazides, corticosteroids, oral contraceptives, phenytoin, sympathomimetics. risk of hypoglycaemia with oral hypoglycaemics.

Side Effects: Fullness, abdominal distension. soft stools. diarrhoea. flatulence.
