Precautions : Hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides. pregnancy and lactation. myasthenia gravis. caution in renal impairment and in concomitant use with nephrotoxic drugs.

Indications/Uses: Severe infections due to aerobic gram-negative bacilli. im or iv 1-1.7mg/kg tid.

Interactions : Increased risk of nephrotoxicity with cephalosporins, potent diuretics, ciclosporin.

Side Effects : Ototoxicity. nephrotoxicity. vestibular damage. neuromuscular blockade and respiratory paralysis.
