Precautions : Respiratory depression. raised intracranial pressure. pregnancy. caution in hypothyroidism, renal or hepatic insufficiency or myasthenia gravis.

Indications/Uses: Severe and intractable pain; 10-20 mg bd initially, adjusted later as needed.

Interactions : Increased toxicity with cns depressants

Side Effects : Nausea. vomiting. constipation. drowsiness. dependence. itching.
