Precautions : Pregnancy and lactation (72 hrs after last dose). low platelet or neutrophil counts.

Indications/Uses: Treatment and prevention of cmv infection in immnunosuppression. oral 1g tid with food, by iv infusion 5mg/kg bd.

Interactions : Myelosuppresion with zidovudine.

Side Effects : Gastro-intestinal disturbances. anaemia. leucopenia. headache. parathesia. fever. rash. reaction at injection site.
