Precautions : Hypersensitivity. hearing loss. caution when used together with nephrotoxic or ototoxic drugs.

Indications/Uses: Iv for serious infections by gram positive cocci, including multi-drug resistant staph. infections; 500-1000mg bd-tds. orally for antibiotic associated colitis.

Interactions : Increased toxicity with ototoxic, nephrotoxic or neuromuscular blocking drugs.

Side Effects : Bitter taste. nausea. stomatitis. fever. chills. hypotension. rash. eosinophilia. vasculitis. ototoxicity. thromobocytopenia. renal failure.
